Community Action Plan for Children (CAPC) aims to improve healthy child development by:

  • Enhancing parenting skills
  • Promoting healthy parent-child relationships
  • Decreasing social isolation
  • Increasing child self-esteem
  • Providing child-focused activities & play opportunities
  • Supporting families to access healthy food

Snoezelen Room

The Snoezelen room uses music, lighting effects, gentle vibrations and tactile sensations which all provide opportunities for a unique sensory experience. This room provides a space where you can relax and have the opportunity to choose an activity at your own pace allowing for exploration, self-direction and fun. Book one or more 1 hour spaces for your family. Siblings welcome in the room or can be provided with other opportunities to keep them busy. This room is open to all who feel they could benefit from the Snozelen environment.

Nobody’s Perfect

At Nobody's Perfect sessions, you can learn about your child's feelings, behaviours, body, and safety as well as sharing what it is like to be a parent. Sessions are based on what you and other parents want to learn about, not step by step from a book.

Let's Chat & Play Southcrest

We offer a safe space for women (with children newborn to 6 years of age) in the community to learn about parenting, connect with other mothers and access resources and information. London Food Bank depot on site and snacks and coffee/tea provided.

Women's Support Group White Oaks & Westminster

We offer a safe space for women (with children newborn to 6 years of age) in the community to connect, build friendships and access resources and information. Breakfast, childminding and grocery gift card provided.

When:Wednesdays & Fridays Time:9:30-11:30am (Wed at Family Centre Westminster); 9:30-11:30am (Fri at SLNRC) Cost:FREE
Let's Chat & Play White Oaks

We offer a safe space for women (with children newborn to 6 years of age) in the community to learn about parenting, connect with other mothers and access resources and information. Snacks and coffee/tea provided.

Smart Start for Babies for Arabic Speaking Newcomers

A weekly prenatal nutrition program for newcomer Arabic-speaking women who are pregnant. Interpreters are available, and grocery cards, bus tickets and healthy snacks are provided weekly. Little Learners at Play White Oaks

This 6 week school readiness program provides an opportunity for 3 to 4 year old to to grow and flourish This program introduces children to a rich variety of new learning experiences building on their social, language, and reasoning and self-help skills. Children will experience belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression. Registration required.

For:3 to 4 year olds When:Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays Time:12:30 to 2:30pm Cost:Free
Collective Kitchen

Cook a meal together and enjoy lunch when its completed. Learn about nutrition, food budgeting and physical fitness. Grocery gift card and bus tickets provided. Please contact Tayiba Nasr at 519-686-8600 ext. 7388 for details and registration.

Young Moms Group

Moms explore issues and concerns they face as young parents. Learn about child development, positive parenting, healthy weights, injury prevention and mental health. Light dinner, bus tickets and grocery gift cards provided weekly.
